Trip to Frankfurt (26. 06. 2008)

On June, 26th, 2008, a group of 28 persons started a trip to the Rhein-Main-area. The first stop was in Hanau for a sightseeing tour on bus, seeing the castle “Phillippsruhe” and the district “Wilhelmsbad”.

The next stop was the “Rhein-Main”-airport. During a 90 minutes sightseeing tour by bus an employee, working as a tour guide,  explained the airport history. At this time they are appr. 70.000 employees on the airport. Every 40 seconds an airplane is starting or landing. After this interesting tour there was the chance to go to the visitors deck.

After lunch the group went to the city of Frankfurt for a sightseeing tour. At the end of the tour all participants went to the “Main Tower”, a tall building with a visitors deck on the top. The weather was clear and all had a wonderful view (see the photos in the gallery).

Before the bus started to drive back to Gedern, all persons had dinner during a two hours stay in an original american restaurant called “Chicago Meatpackers”, with spareribs, chickenwings, hamburgers and steaks (and one or two pitchers of beer).
